Childcare and kindergarten in Keperra, QLD

Kindy Patch Grovely offers long day care and a Government-approved Kindergarten program for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, conveniently located for families in Arana Hills, Keperra, Ferny Hills, Ferny Grove, Upper Kedron, Mitchelton, Gaythorne and Everton Hills.

Peaceful outdoor environments

Tucked away from traffic noise, our centre has a calm outdoor environment where children have space to ride, climb and explore. The outdoor areas include a bike track, climbing fort and herb gardens that children help care for as part of everyday learning.

Purpose-built indoor spaces

Inside, children learn in purpose-built spaces with a mix of natural and man-made resources. Educators thoughtfully design the rooms around children’s needs and interests, creating spaces where children can play, investigate and build new skills.

Long-standing educator team

Our educators and teachers bring stability and care to the centre, with some team members having been with us for up to 16 years. These familiar relationships help children feel comfortable, included and known by the people who care for them.

Individual Learning Plans

Individual Learning Plans are developed in partnership with families, reflecting each child’s strengths, interests and goals. Educators use these plans to guide play, routines and learning in ways that suit each child’s needs and next steps.

Government-approved Kindergarten program

Our Government-approved Kindergarten program is delivered by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher. Children build confidence for school through play-based learning, routines, friendships and growing independence.

Community walks and local excursions

Children and educators enjoy getting out into the local community, with walks and excursions to nearby schools and parks. These experiences help children become familiar with local places and feel connected to the community around them.

Fresh meals prepared daily

Children are offered fresh meals and snacks throughout the day, with menus planned to provide variety and balance across the week. Allergies, cultural preferences and individual dietary requirements are carefully catered for to support each child’s wellbeing.

Updates through our family app

Families can stay connected to their child’s day through our family app, which provides regular photos, observations and updates from educators. The app helps families stay informed and engaged with their child’s experiences at the centre.

Meet our Centre Manager

Mystique

12 years with our centre

“My philosophy is to nurture children’s curiosity, provide learning opportunities, and encourage them to try new things.”

I began my career in early childhood education and care in 2012 and joined Kindy Patch Grovely in May 2014. Starting as a Centre Float, I have progressed through various roles, including Assistant, Lead Educator, Assistant Centre Manager, and now Centre Manager. My love for children has always driven my work. The best part of my job is forming connections with the children and families, many of whom remain with us for years as their children grow and learn. The bonds we create and the memories we make are truly lasting.

Children are wonderful beings with immense potential. I have learned that they are honest, pure, and full of passion and wonder. My philosophy is to nurture their curiosity, provide opportunities for learning, and encourage them to try new things. Whether your child is starting school next year or in a few years, consider giving them a head start by sending them to an Early Education and Care Centre that offers high-quality early education in a fun, caring, and supportive environment.

Our dedicated team of experienced educators understands the importance of extending children’s home-life experiences. We develop individual programs for each child to build upon their learning, understanding, communication, self-esteem, and confidence. Together, we create an inclusive, educational environment that feels like a home away from home for the children in our care.

Choosing an early learning centre is one of the most important and challenging decisions a parent has to make. At Kindy Patch Grovely, we ensure open communication from daily posts on our parent app to a weekly email update every Friday about our week and upcoming events. From the very first tour to the enrolment paperwork, we are here to guide and support you through this transition.

I look forward to welcoming your family to Kindy Patch Keperra early education centre.

Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Keperra, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

Sustainability

Our early learning centre promotes sustainability by maintaining herb gardens that children help care for, composting all food scraps, and encouraging families to donate recyclables for everyday play. We also have a beehive with Native Australian Bees.

Music and movement

Our exclusive Rhythm and Movement for Self-Regulation (RAMSR) program is designed to develop fundamental skills that help support children’s self-regulation, memory, and concentration. It is an innovative approach to holistic learning, development and well-being in early childhood.

Social and emotional learning

Children develop a strong sense of identity as they feel safe, secure and supported, building confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Both of my children have attended since they were babies, and I truly couldn’t speak more highly of the care they’ve received. As a parent, I’ve always felt supported and reassured. The team communicates openly and consistently, which has made a big difference in building trust and confidence. It’s clear they genuinely care about the children and their families. What stands out most is the strong relationships my kids have formed with their educators. They come home excited, sharing stories about their day, the activities they’ve done, and the fun they’ve had. It’s comforting to know they feel happy, safe, and engaged in their environment. I’m incredibly grateful for the positive impact this daycare has had on our family and would highly recommend it to other parents.

Frequently asked questions

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Learn more about our Settling-in Program.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits, spare socks and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits, spare socks and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Kindy Patch uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Kindy Patch is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
